Does 1pc replace my accountant or tools like Xero?
1pc isn't an accounting package — you still need one for filing accounts and submitting tax returns. What 1pc does is handle the front-half of your business: leads, quotes, jobs, invoices, and expense capture.
When it's time to do your books, 1pc hands your accountant (or Xero, or your accounting software of choice) clean, tagged data. You stop doing double entry. Your accountant stops charging you for chaos.
Is 1pc ready for Making Tax Digital?
Yes, it's coming. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax becomes mandatory in April 2026 for sole traders earning over £50,000. We're building MTD support into 1pc directly — so income and expenses captured day-to-day will flow through to your submissions when the deadline arrives.

What if I hire someone? Am I still a fit?
1pc is designed around one person making the decisions — that doesn't change if you bring in help. Most one-person businesses that grow still have a single founder running the show, with occasional subcontractors, a VA, or a part-time team member. 1pc handles that.
If you grow into a full team of five or ten and need multi-user roles and approval workflows, you'll have outgrown us — and that's a good problem to have.
